Prattsville is a small historic town in Greene County, New York, United States. It is named after Zadock Pratt, its founder. It is located in the northwest part of the county, on the Catskill Mountaintop where Greene, Delaware and Schoharie Counties meet above the Schoharie Valley. Only 10 miles from Windham and 15 miles from Hunter, NY.
Prattsville has a rich history and scenic beauty. Similar to the rest of the region, on August, 28. 2011, Hurricane Irene caused record flooding in the town of Prattsville by the Schoharie Creek, causing major damage and destroying large areas of the town. Prattsville received widespread national news coverage as the town had nearly been washed away. Since then the Town of Prattsville has been working on rebuilding.
